One of the last few Browns around. Great chicken and pasta Update: Jan 2024 This Browns Chicken is still great! Authentic Browns fried chicken ad delicious pasta with red sauce. One of the last remaining Browns locations. I hope they stay open forever! Favorite fast chicken location!

It was my first time coming here ever. I had learned about an incident that happened here in 1993. Btw. Jan 7, 2023 marks the 30 year anniversary. Rest in peace. But I never ate here because of it. So I finally did about a week ago. It was amazing. The gentleman at the front counter was very patient. (As you can see now it takes a long time for me to get to my point) He also understood the round about way that I ordered my food. "Can I have two orders of the picture when you first come in?" We sat at a table while we waited for our order. It was like maaaybe 3min. And then I tasted the Mushrooms. Oooomg. Those things were amazing. Perfect ratio if shroom to breading. Juicy explosion of flavor from the shrooms. Then I tasted the chicken. Seriously. I have avoided 31 years of happiness. I piece of meat sent from the gods of fulfillment. No, seriously. I do not know what they put in it but within two pieces of chicken I my satire level was beyond full. No other chicken place does that to me. None. I had the drum stick first. It was so crunchy and juicy. I almost made it through the piece of thigh. I had ordered a 7piece chicken. For like 8 bucks. So basically in my mind. I just ordered 3meals. When i got home i split the remaining chicken pieces into meals. People, i had only one thigh the next meal and I was capped. It was still so juicy and crunchy. I am going to get this chicken at the next potluck that I go to. It was that good to share with my people. Worth while wait. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level. Curb has access. Two doors to get in. But not automated

Stopped here for a bite to eat after work. I had the mushroom and swiss burger. The menu has a lot to offer and the place has a very tranquil ambience.

They know how to make some good fried chicken. Pro tip: try the mushrooms. You're welcome.

I have been going to this location for some time now and have always loved their fried chicken and gyros. The fried chicken is always crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The gyros is always tender and filled with well seasoned meat. Nice and clean dine in atmosphere, never disappoints!

I have been eating there for years. The food is great and very consistent. It is also a very clean restaurant.

Ordered the 8 pcs. with 3 sides. Three of the chickens were huge! I'm not really a fan of the red rice and beans but the mashed potatoes with gravy are so good. Took the leftovers home. They were so kind to let us finish our food. They were about to close up. Thanks guys! We will be back 😊 Parking: Very spacious parking and accessible on both sides of the restaurant.

I visited Browns in Skokie for the first time in over 17 years. Prior to that time, I was the owner of the Skokie franchise for almost 20 years. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection. Hot, juicy and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend eating at this location.

Good Food

You don't see too many of these restaurants anymore. The food here was really good. They have gizzards and corn muffins, and gumbo. The service was as quick as it could have been(they were busy). The food was hot and crispy and delicious. No complaints from me.

This is a great Brown's location-- they don't disappoint and are consistently good. The food is always fresh, the staff are polite, and there's plenty of seating and parking. This is nothing at all like the lackluster one that existed at Lawrence/Central. The food at this Skokie location tastes as good as it did in the 80's when I grew up. I get the fried mushrooms every time I go here-- they are amazing and should be a centerpiece on the menu!

They provided catering for my sons birthday party. Food was awesome. Chicken was crispy and moist. Mashed potatoes are gravy were awesome. Everything was good, food was hot and ready coming out right when we got there to pick up.

I've been here a few times and the associates have always been friendly and quick without sacrificing quality. I've had to wait briefly once, but I'd rather wait if it means a fresh product. I really like the chicken and sides and the store is well maintained and clean. Good job Skokie store. To be honest, I like the chicken at Popeye's better, but the associates are typically angry and rude and the stores are dirty. I'll stick with Brown's.

Respectful and Considerate and Courteous

So many nasty reviews from a year ago while a world pandemic was going on. Food is great and tastes good. The staff has been committed to staying and working this entire time and still service without complaints. Place offers several types of food which is perfect especially if you’re traveling. Why’d someone complain about an establishments menu is ridiculous. Lol Really loved the pizza but the chicken legs for me is what’s up. Thanks for still remaining open and being here. I love Brown's Chicken, but there are none left close to my house. When I came across this one in Oakton Avenue returning from East Rogers Park, I had to stop. The two thighs I purchased were wonderful. I forgot how much better they are than the other chicken places. I have also heard there is still one left in Elk Grove near Alexion Brothers hospital. Will have to stop there when I'm in the area!

Great place when you don't feel like cooking. Extremely clean restaurant. Great manager and employees. Extremely quick service. Never more then 15-20 minute for large orders or when they run out but happens very seldom. They have a daily special of 8 pcs of dark chicken for $8. I get 3 deals for my family. $24 is not bad for family of 6. It beats McDonalds and more healthy and filling. Take home and add your own. vegetables you have at home. Or many sides to choose from in restaurant. Can't say enough about this Browns. It just taste better and pieces are bigger then KFC and less greasy. Don't get this kind of customwr service and Popeyes or KFC. Located at Oakton and Crawford across from school. Check them out you be glad u did. No coupons just 8 pcs for $8 dark only. Do have other deals like Popeyes and KFC. Bicuits, gravy, pasta, drinks, fried mushrooms, fried wings and sauce. Drop in.

I have been going to this location for a few years now. Their menu is different than the other locations. Staff is friendly and has clean atmosphere. These days it’s best to order on phone and just carry out. Never been disappointed in any of my visits here. Now they are on door dash too so it’s even better for ordering.
